Carmel Catholic's NYAN robotics team finishes 9th at World Championship

The Carmel Catholic High School Not Your Average Nerds (NYAN) Varsity Robotics team finished in 9th place at the FTC World Championship, held April 24-29 in Detroit. The team competed among 5,400 teams this season. NYAN also took home the coveted Key Design Award.

The team consists of Ricky Blaha, of Wadsworth; Allen Mons, of Waukegan; Brendan Collins, of Mundelein; Tommy Donahoe, of Mundelein; Peter Harrigan, of Wildwood; Joey Elert, of Libertyville; Andrew Frels, of Libertyville; Owen Kompare, of Libertyville; Zakir Ujjainwala, of Round Lake; Jake Cerwin, of Gurnee; and Matt Fix, of Gurnee.
