Nevada's basketball opens next season at home against BYU

RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada's basketball team will open next season at home against BYU.

The Reno Gazette Journal reported Wednesday the Wolf Pack will host the Cougars of the West Coast Conference in Reno in the non-conference game Nov. 6.

The deal calls for Nevada of the Mountain West Conference to play a game the following season at BYU in Provo, Utah.

The Wolf Pack's other non-conference matchups include a game Nov. 27 at Loyola Chicago, the team that beat them in the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament in March. They also host Pacific Nov. 9, play Arizona State at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Dec. 7 and Tulsa at the Las Vegas Invitational on Nov. 22.

Nevada also will face either UMass or Southern Illinois at the tourney in Las Vegas on Nov. 23.
