Softball: Libertyville gets to win No. 20

Amanda Page pitched 6 strong innings, Maggie Evers homered, and Libertyville's softball team reached 20 wins for the sixth year in a row by beating host Zion-Benton 10-1 in North Suburban Conference action on Tuesday.

The Wildcats (20-6, 8-3) got 2-for-4 efforts from Aliya Haddon (double, 2 RBI), Chloe Bleck, Emily Hilldale (double) and Hannah Hiscox (double, RBI). Page struck out six and did not walk a batter.

Grayslake North 9, Grayslake Central 2: Grace Brown hit her 17th homer of the season, and the host Knights ran their winning streak to 11 games with the Northern Lake County Conference victory.

Alyssa Carr was 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI for Grayslake North (16-7, 8-3). Brown finished 2-for-2 with 2 intentional walks and 2 RBI, Jess Pozezinski was 2-for-4 with a double, and Meghan Delahunty doubled as well. Evan Garrett went the distance in the circle, striking out five and walking one.

For Grayslake Central (16-12, 7-6), Elisa Koshy homered, drove in two and went 3-for-3.

Antioch sweeps North Chicago: The Sequoits clinched a share of the Northern Lake County championship by winning a pair of 10-0 finals.

Piper Foote was 2-for-2 with an RBI for Antioch (19-6, 11-2) in the first game, and Mollie Wagner and Megan Lawrence each had a double and an RBI. Ashley Hoerning pitched 2 innings in relief to earn the win.

In Game 2, Abby Pyburn (double) and Katie Sorenson (triple) had extra-base hits, and Amber Blake pitched a 5-inning 1-hitter with 12 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Antioch can clinch the NLCC title outright on Thursday with a win over Grayslake North.

Grant 13, Wauconda 1: Erin Bengston went 4-fo-4 with an RBI, Meghan Chapman was 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI, and the Bulldogs won the Northern Lake County game in six innings.

Megan Mitchell and winning pitcher Sydney Goessele (double, 2 RBI) were both 3-for-5. Calista Warmowski and Liz Schram (4 RBI) each had a pair of hits. Maddy Quinn added a triple.

Mundelein 6, Lake Zurich 4: Breanna Adams went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, as the Mustangs won in North Suburban action.

Danilelle Lambert and Allison Lambert (double, RBI) were also 3-for-4 for Mundelein, and Molly Podraza finished 2-for-4 with 2 RBI.

Lake Zurich got a pair of hits each from Megan Croke and Julia Zaucha. Haley Gajewski doubled and knocked in two, and Elizabeth Chialdikas had a double.
