About time we focused on trades for kids
At last someone is talking about educating kids whose talents are mechanical, hands on and absolutely no less than those kids who are "bookish" and opt for the liberal arts. Our schools have focused on those who are college bound but leave kids whom the country desperately needs behind. People in the trades usually don't have to worry that their jobs will disappear overseas.
In my business life I learned to deeply appreciate the shop guys, the mechanics, the people who build the places where we live and work and realize how we all need one another. It's time for the schools to be serious about educating every kid - not just those college bound.
