"We were able to spread the love today, and the subs played an important role in scoring goals," Bulldogs coach Beau Shogren said. "We definitely needed to get used to the surface today, coming from our turf field to this natural surface. It is funny how much it slows things down for us. It was a good opportunity to prep for the final match in the regional. We will be ready."
Lakes 8, Northside 2: At Lakes, Simone Lippmann scored twice for the Eagles in their Class 2A regional semifinal.
Rylie Matchett, Casey Moczynski, Alyssa Bombicino, Hannah Morway and Mikayla Pacourek also scored for Lakes (6-10).
Grayslake North 7, Lake View 0: At Deerfield, Lauren Davis had 3 goals and 2 assists, as the seventh-seeded Knights ousted the No. 11 seed in the Class 2A regional semifinal.
Jordyn Gerdes, Gianna Marrero, McKenna Brooks and Lauren Hansen also scored. Keeper Emily Dunne made 1 save in earning the shutout.
"We were happy with the way we played," Grayslake North coach Adam DeCaluwe said. "We managed to have purpose in our possession, moving the ball quickly, looking to put them under consistent pressure. I was really happy with the team mentality the girls took to the field, as each chance we created involved teammates working hard for each other as all the girls looked to set each other up for success."
