Girls track and field: Harvest Christian second at 1A sectional

Freshman Carsen Forte and senior Nygia Pollard went 1-2 in the 800-meter run Friday night to lead Harvest Christian to a second-place finish at the Class 1A Lena-Winslow girls track sectional.

Forte finished in a time of 2:28.14 in the event. She also took second in the 400 as the Lions scored 98 points. Winnebago won the team title with 118 points.

Harvest also qualified its winning 3,200 relay team (10:18.91) as well as Grace Callahan in the high jump (2nd), Pollard in the 3,200 run (2nd) and Hope Mylin in the high hurdles (2nd).

St. Edward senior Bella Uscila will also compete at state after finishing second in the 100-meter dash.

Class 1A at Seneca: Aurora Christian's Alyssa Busker won the 200 in a time of 26.13 and finished second in the 100 to punch her ticket to next weekend's state finals. AC freshman Chelsea Hasulube was fourth in the triple jump to qualify as well.
