2 families displaced by Naperville fire
A dryer fire in Naperville Wednesday afternoon has displaced two families, according to the Naperville Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched to a three-story, multifamily complex on the 700 block of Greenwood Circle at 4:10 p.m. for a report of an appliance fire. Crews determined that the fire was located in the second-floor laundry room. Residents who were still in the building at the time were evacuated safely, authorities said. No one was reported injured.
According to the fire department, the involved residential unit and the unit beneath it were declared uninhabitable because of fire damage, temporarily displacing two families. The remaining units were declared habitable.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
