Elgin man charged with fourth DUI

An Elgin man faces charges of drunken driving for a fourth time, as well as charges related to two crashes he caused, according to the Kane County state's attorney's office Tuesday.

Will Bingham, Jr., 61, has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated DUI and two misdemeanor counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to an attended vehicle. Bingham has three previous DUI convictions.

Kane County State's Attorney Joe McMahon said that on Saturday morning Bingham was driving a black 1991 Cadillac in Elgin when he struck and damaged a 1997 Toyota Camry at Kimball and North Spring streets. Bingham kept on driving and soon after struck and damaged a 2005 Scion at Kimball Street and North Grover Avenue, authorities said.

According to the news release, Bingham was taken to a hospital where a blood draw indicated his blood-alcohol concentration was .364.

Bingham appeared in Kane County bond court on Sunday where his bail was set at $150,000. Bingham remains in custody at the Kane County jail.
