Girls soccer: Jacobs storms back to beat Dundee-Crown

The Jacobs girls soccer team completed an improbable comeback Tuesday, as it rallied from a 3-goal halftime deficit to down archrival Dundee-Crown 4-3 on Senior Night to end the Fox Valley Conference season.

Goals by Anna Kieltyka, Katelyn Skibinski and Bryalin Mensik put D-C (7-12, 3-5) ahead 3-0 in the 38th minute. But the Golden Eagles (4-4 FVC) never quit and their big second half included 2 goals each from Dominique Anderson and Kelsey Medina. Anderson's goals came in the 45th and 48th minutes while Medina put away a corner away 3 minutes later and the game-winner with 4 left in the match. Cassie Kowalski and Beige Garza each had 1 assist as Jacobs went 10-3 in its final 13 games to end the regular season 10-5-2.

St. Edward 6, Cristo Rey St. Martin 0: In Class 1A regional action, the Green Wave (14-3-1) advanced to Saturday's 12 p.m. final after eliminating the regional hosts. Rachel Martini notched 4 goals in the semifinal while Maddie Ellsworth and Yssa Sto. Domingo added goals as well. Keeper Mariel Franco had 1 save for the shutout. The Wave will face Elgin city rival Westminster Christian, which downed Deerfield Rochelle Zell 2-0 in the nightcap in Waukegan.

Cary-Grove 2, CL South 1 (OT): The Trojans (9-2-2, 7-1 FVC) came away with an overtime victory over their archrival as Kelly Stayart and Jenna Stayart had goals, each. Maggie Mason and Kelli Ives collected assists for C-G while South (10-6, 6-2) received a goal from Cam Sengstock in the first half. Marissa Fetters provided 8 saves in goal.

Streamwood 3, West Chicago 1: The Sabres (5-10, 1-5) knocked off the Wildcats in UEC crossover action as Paulette Carranza (1 assist), Melanie Ramirez and Kristina Kellogg each scored goals. Michaela Gundersen dished out 2 assists.
