Chicago man charged with burglary in Bartlett

DuPage County prosecutors charged a Chicago man with a felony count of burglary and two misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass to vehicle after Bartlett police arrested him about 1 a.m. Saturday on the 900 block of Trailside Lane, authorities said Monday.

Corey A. Kirkendoll, 22, of the 2800 block of West Flournoy Street, also was cited by Bartlett police for unlawful possession of cannabis, police said.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Ladysmith Road after a witness reported a person looking through the center console of a Cadillac Escalade. Officers searched the area and found Kirkendoll walking on Trailside Lane, police said.

After an investigation, they recovered a small amount of cannabis from Kirkendoll as well as personal property stolen from a Honda Civic parked on the 500 block of Valley View Drive, authorities said.

Kirkendoll is scheduled to appear in court June 4.
