Girls soccer: O'Brien's goal gives West Aurora win

A penalty kick by Riley O'Brien gave the West Aurora girls soccer team a 1-0 win over Metea Valley in nonconference action Monday. Goalkeeper Hannah Gove recorded a shutout with 6 saves.

Dixon 1, Kaneland 0: The Knigths had their 6-game unbeaten streak snapped in nonconference action as the Duchesses (16-1) scored a first-half goal that Kaneland could not equalize. The last time Kaneland (12-3-2) lost came in a shootout loss to Sycamore for the Freeport Invite title.
