Girls soccer: Mundelein denies Lake Zurich
Mundelein's girls soccer team shut out Lake Zurich in the second half to earn a 3-2 win in North Suburban Conference play Monday.
For Lake Zurich, Kristin Brousseau and Maddy Piggott each scored while Haley Brousseau and Rachel Krueger had the assists. Lake Zurich goalie Claire Jones had 5 saves.
Lake Zurich drops to 9-1-3 and 5-1 in the North Suburban Conference.
The Bears have a make-up date against visiting Libertyville (9-5, 3-3) at 7 p.m. Wednesday. If Lake Zurich wins, it clinches an outright NSC championship. A draw would still net the Bears a share of the title, while a loss would mean Mundelein is the conference champ.
Warren 6, Stevenson 3: Warren was up on Stevenson 5-1 by halftime.
For Warren, Lauren Micek, Brianna VanZanten and Krissy Hill each scored while Gracie Wingfield, Katie Sakshaug and Izzy Michael each had an assist.
Lakes 4, Round Lake 3: Lakes won 5-4 on penalty kicks to move to 4-9 overall and 3-3 in the Northern Lake County Conference.
Lakes goalie Molly Bakrins had 10 saves overall and 3 saves on the penalty kicks.
Rylie Matchett scored 2 goals for Lakes.
For Round Lake, Claudia Hernandez and Alexandria Wawrzyniak each had a goal and an assist while goalie Giselle Raygoza had 11 saves.
