Girls soccer: Round Lake breaking new ground

Round Lake reached the double-digit win mark this season and broke the school record for girls soccer wins with an 8-2 victory against Lake Forest Academy on Saturday.

Dana Devera had 5 goals, the most goals scored by a Round Lake player in one game on the girls side.

Alexandria Wawrzyniak had 2 goals and 3 assists and dominated the midfield the entire game. Claudia Hernandez had 1 goal and 2 assists in which her combination plays with Devera were very effective.

Lake Zurich 2, Maine South 0: Lake Zurich scored both of its goals in the second half.

Kristin Brousseau scored a goal off an assist by Abby Willock and then assisted on the other goal, by Rachel Krueger.

Goalie Claire Jones had 7 saves for Lake Zurich, which moves to 9-0-3 on the season.
