Lake Zurich 5, Stevenson 3: Tyler Snep and Anthony Mangano each had 2 hits to lead Lake Zurich to the North Suburban Conference win.

Caleb Evans topped Stevenson with 3 hits, all doubles.

Maine West 6, Vernon Hills 5: Down 2 runs in the seventh inning, Vernon Hills rallied. Pinch hitter Caleb Thomson, Brendan Holloway and Tony Brown hit successive singles to start the inning.

After reliever Cory Scholler struck out Ethan Bowers, Jake Morris' walk forced in Thomson which decreased the deficit to 1 run. Scholler then got Danny Wizceb to ground into a double play to end the game.

Kyle Fasbinder was a bright spot offensively for Vernon Hills going 3-3 with a home run. Sophomore Brendan Holloway made the most of his first varsity start with 2 hits.

Derek Jarrel made a quality start, going all 6 innings and allowing 6 runs, 5 of which were earned.

The Cougars dropped to 7-14-1 on the season and 1-9 in the CSL.
