Horse racing returns to Arlington Park
Head to Arlington Heights for one of the first sure signs of summer - the return of racing at Arlington International Racecourse, 2200 W. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights. Check out Opening Day Friday and Derby Day Saturday. Opening day is free with online registration; $10 at the gate. Derby Day general admission is $18, $5 for youth. Cinco de Mayo in Elgin
Go global this weekend when downtown Elgin hosts a Cinco de Mayo celebration Friday, followed by the sixth annual Elgin International Fest on Saturday. The Cinco de Mayo event features Mexican music and art, while the International Fest offers dance performances, markets and more. Events in downtown Elgin are near 30 DuPage Court.
