Baseball: Coble, Barrington finish shutout against Schaumburg

Barrington's baseball team, which held a 4-0 lead against visiting Schaumburg on Wednesday before play was suspended in the top of the third inning, was able to finish the job Thursday.

The Broncos won 9-0, which puts them at 16-3-2 overall and a spotless 11-0 in Mid-Suburban League play.

Clark Elliott finished 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored for Barrington. Finishing with 1 RBI apiece were Tyler Acosta, Michael Zavoli, David Mitchell, Mikey Owsley, A.J. Christoffer (double) and Jake Meyer.

Barrington's Nick Bogaerts did the pitching on Wednesday and allowed 2 hits. Brad Coble was even better Thursday over 4⅓ innings, allowing no hits and 1 walk with 5 strikeouts.

Nick Calip and Jake Golliher had the hits for Schaumburg (4-15, 2-9).
