Glen Ellyn police looking for 2 armed robbery suspects
The Glen Ellyn Police Department is looking for two male suspects in an armed robbery that happened Wednesday afternoon.
Officers arrived at The Soccer Edge store, located at 936 Roosevelt Road, about 1 p.m. for a report of armed robbery. According to the police department, witnesses reported that two men stole cash and merchandise before running from the store. Witnesses said one of the men displayed a handgun. The suspects were reported leaving the area and heading west on Roosevelt Road from I-355 in a silver or light gray Volkswagen sedan with a sunroof.
The police department described the suspect with the displayed handgun as a Hispanic man in his early 20s with short brown hair. According to the authorities, the man was last seen wearing a navy blue baseball cap, white T-shirt, jean shorts and aviator style sunglasses.
The other suspect was described by the department as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s to early 30s with tattoos on both arms. The tattoos appear "tribal-like" with "triangles wrapping around" the left biceps, according to authorities.
No one was injured during the incident.
