See film about '25 Years of Preservation in Elgin' May 8

The Elgin Community Network's "Elgin Alive" series continues with "Documenting the Preservation Movement in Elgin" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, in the Meadows Community Room at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in downtown Elgin.

Join in viewing the documentary film, "25 Years of Preservation in Elgin."

The film chronicles the first 25 years of the preservation movement in Elgin. Then enjoy a slide presentation by Dan Miller showing preservation accomplishments in the following 10 years. Miller and others involved in the movement will discuss what local preservationists are doing now and where the preservation movement is headed.

The "Elgin Alive" is a monthly program held September to May at the Gail Borden Library discussing conservation topics to help Elgin become healthier and better informed.

The event is sponsored by Elgin Community Network and the Elgin Area Historical Society.
