Museum to celebrate International Firefighters' Day

In recognition of International Firefighters' Day, the Aurora Regional Fire Museum would like to thank all of the men and women who have helped protect our communities.

Current and retired firefighters will be our guests and receive free admission to the museum Friday, May 4. The museum is open from noon to 4 p.m. Friday.

The museum hopes to see many of the first responders who serve and protect our communities. "This is just one way we can take firefighters for their service," said Brian Failing, executive director.

International Firefighter's Day is celebrated annually May 4. It is a time where the world's community can recognize and honor the sacrifices that firefighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible. It also is a day in which current and past firefighters can be thanked for their contributions. To learn more, visit www.firefightersday.org.

The Aurora Regional Fire Museum preserves the history of the Aurora Fire Department and fire service in our region through collections and exhibits while educating visitors about fire safety and prevention. The museum welcomes more than 9,000 visitors annually for tours, programs and events.
