Host Conant came away with a 9-7 victory over Hersey in the Mid-Suburban League's matchup of second-place boys water polo divisional finishers on Monday. Conant improved to 18-8 overall and Hersey dropped to 19-8.

• Ryan Gustafson (4 goals) and Matt Soltau (3) led the way as Schaumburg (12-17) topped Elk Grove 11-4 in the MSL's fourth-place divisional crossover matchup. Nick Rosenorn scored twice for the Grens (7-15).

• Host Palatine got 3-goal efforts from Jerome Gabriel, Sean O'Brien, Sam Adame and Jack O'Connell in a 20-5 victory against Rolling Meadows in the MSL's fifth-place divisional crossover matchup.

Junior Will Schwarting scored 4 goals for Rolling Meadows (2-13) and Josh Carpenter had 1.

Palatine improved to 6-22.
