Artists celebrate pollinators in Mayslake exhibit

Artwork inspired by native pollinators will be featured in "The Art of Pollinators" exhibit, a showcase of nearly 100 prints, drawings, paintings, photographs and other wall art that represent pollinators through the artist's eye.

A collaborative initiative between the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and DuPage Monarch Project, the exhibit opens Wednesday, May 2, at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County's Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 W. 31st St., Oak Brook.

The forest preserve district and DuPage Monarch Project are committed to increasing populations of monarch butterflies and other pollinators.

"As a regional leader in the conservation and protection of imperiled species, we are thrilled to partner with other agencies to build better habitats for pollinators," forest district President Joe Cantore said. "We hope you will stop in to view this fascinating art exhibit celebrating pollinators."

"The Art of Pollinators" runs through Friday, June 1, in Mayslake Hall. Exhibit hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. An opening meet-the-artists reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 7.
