Two Aurora teens charged with spray painting six vehicles

Two Aurora teenagers were charged with one felony charge of criminal damage to property after spray painting gang-related slogans and other graffiti on the 100 block of Wilder Street early Wednesday morning, according to police.

A 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl painted on six vehicles, a garage, a retention wall and a dumpster between 4:15 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., the Aurora Police Department said on its Facebook page. The damage was assessed at $14,260.

The patrol officers knew where possible suspects lived so they were able to find them, question them and secure charges through the Kane County State's Attorney's Office, according to Aurora Police. The boy was released to his parents while the girl was taken to a youth home.
