Carmel sweeps Marian Catholic: The Corsairs opened East Suburban Catholic Conference action by winning twice, 11-10 and 7-3.

Emily Krysa and Hailie Swiatkowski homered in each game, and Jordan Swiatkowski had 2 home runs.

Grayslake Central 8, Crystal Lake Central 5: Lexi Waigand hit a 3-run homer to seal the host Rams' nonconference win.

Waigand finished 2-for-4 with 4 RBI. Brooke Heraty was 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI for Grayslake Central (5-4). The Rams also got 2 hits apiece from Grace Bradley (double) and Elisa Koshy, and Morgan Smigielski contributed a double.

Corinne Heidloff (2-0) pitched 6 innings (2 earned runs) to earn the win, and Bradley notched the save.
