South Carolina champion Cuevas-Moore joins West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - South Carolina's Bianca Cuevas-Moore, a reserve guard on the Gamecocks 2017 national champions, will finish her career at West Virginia.

West Virginia coach Mike Carey announced Cuevas-Moore's addition Wednesday.

She is a 5-foot-6 guard who was a McDonald's All-American and part of South Carolina's No. 2 rated recruiting class that year that included consensus national player of the year A'ja Wilson. Cuevas-Moore was expected to hold a starting role on this year's Gamecock team, but missed all season with a knee injury.

Cuevas-Moore is expected to complete her degree this spring and be immediately eligible for West Virginia as a graduate transfer.

She was a key part of South Carolina's NCAA title run two seasons ago with a tournament-record 12 steals over six games.
