Moylan hosting I-CASH event to return unclaimed property

State Rep. Marty Moylan will be hosting an I-CASH event with State Treasurer Michael Frerichs' office from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at the Des Plaines Public Library located at 1501 Ellinwood Ave.

I-CASH is the treasurer's unclaimed property program that was set up to protect consumers in Illinois and aims to distribute unclaimed funds back to their rightful owners.

The state currently has over $2 billion in unclaimed properties that could belong to local residents. Over the past few years, the Illinois treasurer's office has paid out more than $220 million in unclaimed properties through the I-CASH program. Property or funds will be returned at no cost with the proper identification.
