The Cubs' Jon Lester (0-0) vs. Brent Suter (1-0) Thursday at 7:10 p.m.; Kyle Hendricks (0-0) vs. Brandon Woodruff (0-0) Friday at 7:10 p.m.; Yu Darvish (0-0) vs. Zach Davies (0-1) Saturday at 3:05 p.m.; Jose Quintana (0-1) vs. Chase Anderson (0-0) Sunday at 1:10 p.m.

At a glance:

The Cubs were the preseason favorites in the NL Central, but the Brewers were projected second. The Brewers and Pirates got out of the gate quickly in the first week of the season while the Cubs are 2-3. The Cubs were rained out Tuesday in Cincinnati and enjoyed a scheduled day off Wednesday. Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich have energized the Milwaukee lineup at the top of the order while the Cubs have struggled to score runs. Yelich and Brewers mainstay Ryan Braun hit back-to-back homers Tuesday night in the ninth inning to stun the Cardinals. The Cubs were 10-9 against the Brewers lasts year, 7-3 at Miller Park.
