Uninformed children don't understand NRA
In response to Ms. Rhonda Howard's letter labeled "Should we listen to kids or the NRA?": We should listen to both. These children just witnessed a scarring event. They need to be heard by loved ones and health professionals to emotionally support them. Unfortunately, that is about as much as we can do. Otherwise, all that they say is "gun control."
Were they not so ignorant, they would know that we already have everything that they want: age restrictions, thorough background checks, and restrictions on "assault weapons." Regardless, most shooters augmented legal guns to create their own "assault weapons." If anything, the kids should protest the add-on pieces …. Oh wait, the conservatives (NRA included) are already working on that, never mind.
What about the NRA? Well, they aren't saying, "Let's keep giving guns to maniacs and unnecessarily offensive military weapons to ordinary civilians". They are saying, "Let's protect the right of law-abiding citizens" access to contemporary defense weapons and the training to use those weapons properly." The NRA would not have to be "doing business" in politics so often if the left realized what they were advocating for. They may say that they are not trying to take our gun rights away; however, were they not as ignorant as the boisterous children, they would realize that the majority of measures that we could have are already in place. Anything more expressly violates our American right.
This young generation is not fit for policymaking. They are superficial, emotionally volatile and painfully uneducated. I would know- I just recently turned 17 and I have the misfortune of being a constituent. If you ever suffer to listen to their unfounded shouting because you remember "and a child will lead them," remember that these children aren't the Son of God.
