Kane County authorities working to identify man killed in crash near Burlington
A man was killed in a fiery one-vehicle crash Monday night on Burlington Road south of the village of Burlington, the Kane County sheriff's office said Tuesday.
The man has not been identified by authorities yet because of the burns his body received, according to the news release.
The man was driving a Ford Mustang west on Burlington Road at around 10:30 p.m. when he failed to follow a curve in the road. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a wooden fence before rolling over and smashing into a large tree before catching fire.
No one else was in the car.
The Kane County coroner's office is working to identify the driver.
What caused the man to crash remains under investigation.
