Penilla, Revolution beat 10-man Dynamo 2-0
HOUSTON (AP) - Cristian Penilla had a goal and an assist, and the New England Revolution beat the 10-man Houston Dynamo 2-0 on Saturday night.
Teal Bunbury opened the scoring in the 15th minute for New England (2-1-1), finishing a 4-on-2 break sprung by Penilla's takeaway.
Houston's DaMarcus Beasley was sent off in the 35th minute for the denial of an obvious goal scoring opportunity. Beasley took down Penilla, who was on a breakaway.
In the 77th minute, Penilla gathered a long ball on the left flank, broke down defender Adolfo Machado with a cutback and made it 2-0 with a right-footed blast.
Houston dropped to 1-2-1.
