We must act to stop the violence
With this letter I add my name to those who are saying "No more violence. No more murders."
What has happened to my country? We have had how many schoolchildren massacred? And how many minorities' lives have been snuffed out? where is the outrage?
I join those who are saying there must be change for the better. We are losing one of our best hopes for the future - our young people.
Lord, help me to know what to say to get others to respond and add their voices to say,"No more violence."
Maybe this letter is something that will go nowhere. Maybe it's just my heartache looking for release. How the blood of those murdered cries out to me asking for justice.
How can two agencies - the sheriff's department and the police department - ignore the complaints of concerned citizens over the shooter in Parkland?
I'm remembering when President Reagan and Jim Brady were shot. How long ago was that? And nothing has changed for the better.
Our legislators, both state and federal, have let us down. We elect them to work for us and they fail to pass and enact more stringent gun laws to protect us. Too many innocent people have died because our legislators use the Second Amendment as a reason to do nothing.
Who am I? A 74-year-old white, suburban grandmother who is outraged and heartbroken at this senseless slaughter.
Please do something to bring attention to stopping this awful national legacy.
