Cosmetologists Chicago names 3 Presidents Scholarship winners underwritten by Amazon Professional Beauty

The nonprofit Cosmetologists Chicago, the largest association of salon professionals in the Midwest, announces three scholarships to local salon pros for advanced study.

Paul Dykstra, CEO of Cosmetologists Chicago, the largest association of licensed salon professionals (hair, skin, nails) comments, "There are over 85,000 licensed salon professionals in Illinois, together impacting millions of consumers weekly. Our goal at the Association has always been to make sure our members get the very best training and education possible, so that the consumers can be assured of the highest standards for services. Our 'Presidents Scholarship' helps that process, and we are grateful to Amazon Professional Beauty for their support of the local salon professional."

The three winners of the Presidents Scholarship are:

• Kristen Grzegorcyk of Hoffman Estates for the Cosmetologists Chicago Scholarship for Hairdressing;

• Amanda Ortiz of Aurora for the Cosmetologists Chicago Scholarship for Hair Coloring;

• Kristin Ramirez of West Chicago for the International Nail Technicians Scholarship for Nail Care.

Ortiz, who works at Zano Salon in Batavia, says, "I will study at Vidal Sassoon Academy in California. I believe in being a student for life! I want to strengthen and grow my craft as a hairstylist. That's my responsibility to my clients! This Presidents Scholarship from Cosmetologists Chicago makes it possible for me to get advanced training from an industry icon. Thank you Cosmetologists Chicago and Amazon!"

America's Beauty Show 2018, scheduled for April 28-30 at McCormick Place, is where salon professionals go to learn the latest trends from Beauty Stars who come in from all over the world to educate.
