Baseball: Hollingsworth, Hill help Round Lake roll
Lucas Hollingsworth had 3 hits, including a homer, and 5 RBI, Wyatt Hill pitched 2-hit baseball over 5 innings, and Round Lake defeated visiting Faith Lutheran 13-0 in nonconference action on Wednesday.
Hollingsworth (3-for-5) also doubled. Hill (RBI), Jorge Contreras, Jacob Mitchell (RBI) and Tomas Ortiz (RBI) added a pair of hits each for the Panthers (2-0). Hill struck out 12 and walked four.
Grant 6, Richmond-Burton 5: The host Bulldogs scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning of the nonconference game to improve to 3-0.
Richmond-Burton scored twice in the top of the seventh to tie the score. Jay Patel (1-0) got the win.
Nolan Unger (double) and Carlos Martinez were both 2-for-3 with 2 RBI for Grant.
Mundelein 17, Solorio 1: Ryan Patel and Jared Dorfman were both 2-for-2 with 3 RBI, as the host Mustangs won the nonconference game in five innings.
Dorfman and Steven Sanchez doubled for Mundelein (3-0). Jonathan Hanscom pitched 3 innings, striking out six, for the win. Ethan Ekstrom struck out four in 2 scoreless innings.
