City of St. Charles to host Arbor Day Celebration April 27

The City of St. Charles Natural Resources Commission will host its 2018 Arbor Day Celebration at 4 p.m. Friday, April 27, in Lincoln Park, on Main Street west of Route 31. This annual event features art, music, a tree raffle, free perennial giveaways, tree care demonstrations, educational materials for homeowners, and special tree related programs.

This year's event will also be a celebration of St. Charles' 20th year as a Tree City USA community. Members of the community of all ages are invited to showcase their creative tree-themed works of art such as drawings, paintings, music, sculptures, or dance to help the City celebrate.

Submissions will be put on display at City Hall throughout the month of April and will be recognized at the Arbor Day celebration.

Creative works should be dropped off or mailed by April 9, 2018 to: City of St. Charles, Attn: Arbor Day 2018 Public Works, 2 E. Main St.,

St. Charles, IL 60174.
