City of St. Charles launches new user-friendly job application system

The City of St. Charles has launched a new job application system that is easy to use and will help expedite the application process.

Potential job candidates interested in working at the city can visit the city's jobs page on the website at www.stcharlesil.gov/jobs for a list of open positions.

When they click on a position title they are redirected to the governmentjobs.com site to learn more about the open position and to apply. Applicants create an online profile with a username and password and then fill out the application information and upload a resume.

Completed application information and uploaded resumes can be saved and used to apply for future job openings at the city or for any job posting on governmentjobs.com. Applicants for City of St. Charles jobs also can view the status of their application at any time in the process, and can sign up for job alerts when new positions open up.

With up to 400 applicants for some city job postings, the new system helps the city's human resources department expedite application processing.

"The implementation of this new applicant tracking system provides an improved user experience for applicants and significant internal efficiencies throughout the recruitment and hiring process," said Denice Brogan, assistant director of human resources. "St. Charles is proud to be an employer of choice and we look forward to enhancing the application process for our future employees."

For information on the new application process, contact the Human Resources Department at (630) 377-4446 or hr@stcharlesil.gov.
