Illegal immigration costs America dearly

In accordance with a detailed analysis of federal, state and local programs, that include education, medical care, law enforcement and welfare, illegal immigration costs American taxpayers an astounding $134.9 billion annually. This analysis was conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a nonprofit organization dedicated to studying immigration issues.

Many will say that illegal immigrants pay taxes. True, but figures show that only $19 billion was retrieved in taxes. It's clear, based on numbers from FAIR, that illegal aliens are extensive consumers of taxpayer-funded services and the taxes received from them in no way offset the growing financial burdens they impose on this nation. Open border supporters cannot not use the argument that illegal aliens pay their fair share of taxes. Numbers disprove these comments.

The FAIR report further stated, "A continually growing population of illegal aliens, along with the federal government's ineffective efforts to secure our borders, present significant national security and public security threats to the United States."

According to Fox News, there are 39,455 suspected or confirmed noncitizens currently in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons, which amounts to 21 percent of the total federal prison population. Of the total 37,557 confirmed immigrants in federal custody, 94 percent were illegal immigrants. If one is willing to break the laws in coming here, then why would one expect many to keep the laws of the land.

Contrary to liberal falsities and positions, illegal immigration costs this nation substantially in taxpayer dollars, and in crime and violence. Analysis and numbers support these conclusions.
