Clinical Computer Systems Inc. achieves HITRUST CSF certification

ELGIN, IL, March 2018 - Clinical Computer Systems, Inc. (CCSI), a leading provider of perinatal software, has achieved Common Security Framework certification status from the Health Information Trust Alliance.

Developed by healthcare and IT professionals, HITRUST CSF provides a framework for organizations that create, access, store, or exchange sensitive and/or regulated data, while supporting the security requirements in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

"Cybercrime and privacy breaches should be everyone's concern. Medical data hacks can result in material losses as well as endanger the health and lives of people whose information was stolen. This third-party attestation demonstrates our company's commitment to data protection," said CCSI vice president, Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance Dick Bilof. "Healthcare enterprises are drawn to the functions, features and interoperability of the OBIX Perinatal Data System, but now they have added peace of mind regarding the security of their patients' data."

The HITRUST CSF provides structure, clarity, functionality and cross-references to authoritative sources. It includes national and internationally accepted standards including International Organization for Standardization, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Payment Card Industry and HIPAA to ensure a comprehensive set of baseline security controls. It normalizes security requirements and provides clarity and consistency, reducing the burden of compliance with the varied requirements that apply to organizations.
