Softball: Aurora Central opens with win

Danielle Brown and Izzy Hernandez combined on a 1-hitter as Aurora Central Catholic opened the softball season Monday with a 12-0 nonconference win over Westmont.

Brown struck out 8 and didn't allow a hit in 3 innings of work while Hernandez whiffed 4 and allowed 1 hit in her 2 innings.

Alheia Valazquez (3B, 3 RBI), Isabell Gonzalez (2 RBI) and Kaitlin Carlson (2 RBI) led the Chargers' offense.
