Palatine Rotary gives nearly $60,000 to charities from Oktoberfest
Rotary Club of Palatine has distributed nearly $60,000 to 28 community organizations from the profits generated by last year's Oktoberfest.
"This is the reason I joined the Rotary Club of Palatine," Police Chief Al Stoeckel, the organizations's 2017-2018 president. "When I see how we've helped the community, I realize that all of the hard work we do throughout the year is worthwhile."
Oktoberfest, which ran Sept. 15-17 in downtown Palatine, generated $58,000 for Rotary Club of Palatine.
Among the local groups to receive Rotary checks last week were Palatine Township Senior Center, Shelter Inc., Palatine Tiger Sharks Swim Team, Escorted Transportation Services Northwest, Partners for Our Community, The Bridge Youth and Family Services, Journeys the Road Home, St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, Little City and American Cancer Society's Palatine Relay for Life.
