Learn about community survey at Elgin Alive Series

The Elgin Community Network "Elgin Alive Series" program will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, in the Meadows Community Rooms at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in downtown Elgin.

Laura Valdez-Wilson, assistant city manager with the City of Elgin, will share results from the recently completed Community Survey and discuss how those findings influenced development of the strategic plan.

The resident survey was conducted in 2017 for the purpose of better understanding residents' perceptions and satisfaction with city services, communication and engagement. The survey responses helped to inform the city's strategic planning process and budget discussions.

The strategic plan, "2018-2022 Strategic Principles and Priorities," articulates four core values and three strategic goals that provide focus in providing exceptional services, improving Elgin's quality of life and enhancing the uniqueness of the Elgin community. Each strategic goal is supported by actionable objectives that support Elgin's current and future identity.
