A doctor's oath

I find it incredulous that Dan Alberti's letter of February 23 stating that his doctor has a sign in his office stating that he will not treat a member of the NRA and will transfer their records at no charge. I question this because I do not believe any medical doctor is stupid enough or arrogant enough to subscribe to a policy defying his Hippocratic Oath or the AMA Code of Medical Ethics. This would be like a baker refusing to bake a cake for a gay couple's wedding ... sound familiar? I see a major lawsuit in this doctor's future. If this bigoted sign is OK, how about a sign in a doctor's office stating that he will not treat a person who wants or supports abortion and that he will transfer their records to a place of their choice at no charge. What would the AMA say about that?
