House fire displaces Grayslake family
A Grayslake family of five was displaced Saturday by a house fire.
A neighbor called 911 about 9:15 a.m. after noticing smoke coming from the roof of a house on the 500 block of Stuart Street, said Battalion Chief Mike Rutkowski of the Grayslake Fire Protection District.
Crews arrived shortly after and extinguished the fire, which was primarily located in the attic, he said. Nobody was injured.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation. A damage estimate was not available Sunday, but Rutkowski said the damage to the home was "pretty significant."
