Hampshire area seniors club hosts Valentine's Day party

Bright sunny skies were a nice respite from the cold and snowy days of the previous two weeks, and they provided the perfect setting for the Hampshire-Burlington Senior Citizens Club's annual Valentine's Day Party.

The tables were gaily decorated, with hearts and flowers, as the members and guests, settled down to a sumptuous luncheon, with many dishes prepared especially for the combined Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday occasion.

As the tables were cleared, Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen, assisted by his wife Sarah, presented a "State of the County" report. They were followed by brief comments from several Kane County office seekers, who delivered their vision for the future of Kane County.

A brief business completed the days activities, and the club was adjourned until the March meeting.

The Hampshire-Burlington Senior Citizens Club meets at 11:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of every month at the Hampshire Township Administration Building, 170 Mill Ave. in Hampshire.

It's a potluck, so fix your favorite recipe, put on your bright green sweater, and come and join in the St. Patrick's Day festivities
