Aptakisic-Tripp 102 school renamed, district offices moving

Aptakisic-Tripp Elementary District 102 has started renovating Meridian Middle School and settled on a new name for the school.

The building will be named Meridian School beginning in July. The district is adding space at the middle school for early education programs as demand has increased. The district plans for the new facility to be open for the 2018-2019 school year.

Additionally, starting on Tuesday, the district administration offices will be at 1351 Abbott Court, directly north of Aptakisic Junior High School, where they previously were located. The district bought the building for about $3 million.

The projects are part of a $25 million districtwide expansion project.
