Frosty Footrace 5K

On February 25, 2018, the Friends of the Round Lake Parks Foundation's Frosty Footrace makes it's return to the Sports Center in Round Lake Beach.

After moving the race to Renwood Golf Course in 2017, feedback determined that many participants used their race time to qualify for others; as a result, they preferred the original format at the Sports Center. "We heard you. That's why we're excited to be back with timing and age-group awards," Marketing Manager, Jill Ganan, told us.

Avid runners are not the only ones braving the cold, February weather. Many participants choose to walk the event, as a way of supporting the community. Event proceeds benefit the RLAPD "Fun"ds for Recreation Scholarship Fund, which helps make Park District programs more affordable for those in need.

The Frosty Footrace will start and end at the Sports Center, 2004 Municipal Way in Round Lake Beach. Race numbers will be available for pick-up the day of the race.
