Finding Creativity in Digital Art

Arlington Heights Artist Michael Stone has had a passion for creating digital art for more than 25 years.

Stone's work that features visual abstract designs will be exhibited through Saturday, April 7, at Arlington Green Executive Center, 2101 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, with a special reception at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 24. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public, organized by the Northwest Cultural Council.

"I use different 3D software to produce the basic image, then edit the image with various filters in Photoshop," Stone says. The artist, who has a degree in electronics technology, has also created CD cover artwork for musicians.

Stone's art has been exhibited at Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg, Brickton Art Center in Park Ridge, and the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights.

Stone is a member of ACM Siggraph's Digital Arts Community, and in his spare time, enjoys being a licensed ham radio operator and playing guitar.
