Immigrants must follow the law
There are more than 2.2 million prisoners in the United States. That's 2.2 million broken-up families. Why? Because the prisoner did something illegal. Maintaining the integrity of the family was not a consideration in the sentencing, as it shouldn't have been.
In the same way, if you've entered the USA illegally, you've done it for a reason, usually to take advantage of something you don't have a legal right to: school, a job, health care, citizen's benefits, something the owner of (US citizens) did not authorize. It's illegal, and you, not the law have put your family at risk.
There is a place for immigrants in the U.S., but they have to follow the laws.
