Nonconference win for McCarthy, Vernon Hills

Mekhi McCarthy scored 13 points to lead three players in double figures, as Vernon Hills defeated visiting Chicago Lake View 51-39 in nonconference boys basketball action Monday night.

Luke Perlin and Payton Foster added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Vernon Hills (6-14), which snapped a five-game losing streak.
