Sign up for 20th annual Fox Valley Winterall Nordic games

The 20th annual Fox Valley Winterall Nordic Games will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles. A host of new activities and stations are going to be rolled out this year.

In keeping with the Nordic theme, dens and patrols can do " Ga-Ga" pits in the snow. They will be matched up in head-to-head competition. Does your unit have what it takes to win?

For patrols, the snow canoe races will require teamwork as you are challenged physically and mentally in a variation of the classic race.

The Cubs and Webelos will have a chance to warm up inside with a Scavenger Hunt at the Creek Bend Nature Center.

The Winterall features the Boy Scouts of America Biathlon, "Ice & Fire Build," "Snow Snake Challenge, "Speed & Size Snowman," "Nordic Obstacle Course," "Canoe Bobsled Racing" and more.

The adult leaders are part of the events this year and will "mix it up" during the Adult Chili Cook-Off.

All Cub Scout and Boy Scout units should plan to attend. It will be a great day of games, challenges and fun.

Register your unit early to take advantage of the early bird special. Register at threefirescouncil.org.

The event is for Tigers, Cub Scouts, Webelos, Boy Scouts and Venturers. Bring Your den, patrol or crew.

Boy Scout Polar Bear Camping will take place Friday, Feb., 2.

Cost is $15 if paid by Saturday, Jan. 27. Cost will be $25 after that date and at the door.

For information, contact Josh Nelson at JNelson7408@gmail.com. Volunteers are needed to run the Nordic Games.
