Two ribbon cuttings planned at Northwest Community Healthcare

Northwest Community Healthcare announces two ribbon cutting ceremonies to celebrate additions to the hospital campus.

"We are very excited to be kicking off 2018 with two new ventures to benefit our community," says Stephen Scogna, president and CEO of Northwest Community Healthcare.

"We have opened a new retail outpatient pharmacy to make access to prescriptions and other key medical needs more convenient for our patients. Our second venture involves a significant renovation to our Wellness Center to meet the growing health and wellness needs of our community."

The grand reopening/ribbon cutting of the Northwest Community Healthcare Wellness Center will take place at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at 900 W. Central Road. The $1 million renovation creates more space for members of the state-of-the-art facility.

Highlights of the updated center include more than 100 new pieces of cardio and strength training equipment and an artificial turf area where cross functional training and the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) can take place.

The Northwest Community Healthcare Wellness Center offers group exercise programs such as yoga and spin classes, nutrition programs, a MedFit program that is based on the principle of exercise as medicine, and a spa that includes massage, acupuncture, hair salon, mani-pedis and more.

It also features a pool, whirlpool, steam room and warm water therapy pool for arthritis patients.

On opening day, the public is invited to tour the facility, watch demos of the new equipment, participate in a vendor fair and meet personal trainers. Tours, giveaways and incentives will be offered throughout the week.

Another ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of Northwest Community Healthcare's new retail community pharmacy has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the Busse Center, 800 W. Central Road. Meet new Pharmacy Manager Sean Gale and his staff, learn how to transfer prescriptions, participate in a raffle and take advantage of giveaways.

The pharmacy is on the first floor of the Busse Center, across from Patient Registration.
