Glenbard discusses 'Moving Beyond Stereotypes'

The Glenbard Parent Series: Navigating Healthy Families next week will present "Moving Beyond Stereotypes: Empowering Girls and Boys to Develop their Unique Talents" with entrepreneur Jodi Norgaard.

The presentation begins at noon Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Marquardt Elementary District 15 Administration Center, 1860 Glen Ellyn Road, Glendale Heights.

Research shows children's interests, ambitions and skills can be shaped early on by the media they consume and the toys with which they play.

Norgaard speaks on the need to close the gender gap in our workforce by exposing children to diverse role models and encouraging children to embrace their strengths and break free from the stereotypes that hold them back.

Norgaard is the creator of Dream Big Toy Company and its Go! Go! Sports Girls doll line and was commended at the White House for her work as an agent of change toward a more gender-equitable society.
